Note: The control of the additional function deviates
from this in one detail! Namely, if after selection and
switching on of the additional function (LED lights
up RED) another crane function is set, the additional
function remains switched on until it is selected
again and then switched off by switching over the
travel direction with the travel regulator (LED now
lights up GREEN). The additional function itself is
not controllable, but rather can only be switched
on or -off.
If you call another locomotive address
GB
although another crane function is still run-
ning, the last set crane function continues
to run with the speed that corresponds with
the controller setting before the new loco-
motive address had been set. Therefore, for
the time being, this crane movement can no
longer be addressed via the travel regulator
or via the "OFF"-button. You must first reset
the address of the crane on the Lokmaus
on the digital control panel!
Emergency Stop
As soon as one actuates the "STOP''-button on the
digital control panel (Märklin*/Motorola**), the
track is switched without current and all activity of
the crane is stopped. If the operation is resumed by
pressing a function button or the "GO''-button, the
crane switches automatically to its ‚initial' function,
the rotating back of the upper carriage. Therefore,
after an emergency stop, if necessary you must rese-
lect the required function.
In DCC-operation the last function selected is again
available.
The Support Arrangement for the
Crane in Operation
To prevent the crane carriage from tipping when
lifting heavy loads (from approx. 25 g), we urgently
recommend the attachment of the support arrange-
ment as soon as the crane is not travelled on the
layout, but instead should work. The two support-
appliances are enclosed with the package as add-on
set. The assembly of these parts (see Fig. 2) is carried
out on the two buffer timbers of the crane carriage.
The four support props are designed height-adjusta-
ble according to standard, so that you can adapt the
10
or
®
(Fig. 2)
crane carriage in a stable fashion to the respective
shape of the terrain immediately beside the track.
The support arrangements must only be used
with the crane carriage stationary! As soon
as the crane carriage is to be travelled on
the layout, these must definitely be removed
again beforehand!
Replacing the Cables
If despite friction clutches and despite all care, the
cable for raising and lowering the crane arm or the
cable for the crane hook is fractured, you should
replace it with a not too thin thread. To do this
proceed as follows:
• Disengage upper part (lever in the middle of the
lower part downwards).
• Remove crane housing.
• Unscrew both socket-screws of the motor cover
and remove the cover.
• Remove motor and cable drum of the cable that
is to be replaced.
• Thread in new cable and coil on the cable drum.
• Replace motor and cable drum again. Screw
motor cover tightly and replace housing.
• Thread in the cable through the corresponding
cable guide of the jib and bind tightly to the
crane hook or to the cable fixing point.
Maintenance
No special maintenance work needs to be carried
out on the crane. With contact problems that may
possibly occur (soiling, dust deposits, traces of oil,...)
you should clean the slip rings and the slip contacts
in the frame of the lower part with a cotton bud
dipped in spirits.
Accessories
For the absolute true-to-reality control of the crane,
we recommend the Joystick art.no. 10780 (DCC) or
Item.-No. 10781 (AC).
