Digitally Controlled Railway
Rotating Crane
The cranes 46902 (DCC) and 46903 (AC) can be con-
trolled with both data formats, but differ however in
the running gear. Crane 46902 has insulated wheel-
sets and is suitable for the two-wire direct current
system. Crane 46903 has a drag contact and wheels
suitable for the 3-wire tracks.
The crane can execute the following movements and
functions:
GB
1. Turn upper part left and right (action range: 360°).
2. Raise and lower crane jib.
3. Raise and lower crane hook.
4. Additional function switching on and -off – for
optional employment a lifting magnet and work
light (art.no. 46806) and a drag shovel (art.no.
46807) are obtainable.
To control these movements and functions the crane
is equipped with a specifically designed Multi-Proto-
col Digital-Decoder both for the NMRA-DCC, as well
as for the "Märklin*/Motorola**-format".
The operation in the NMRA-DCC–format is possible
with the ROCO Lokmaus
2
. All NMRA-DCC-compatible controllers of other
®
manufacturers can also control the digital crane
as long as they support at least the functions ‚V
(Light)' and ‚F1' in the Mode 14 running steps.
The operation in the Märklin*/Motorola**-format
is possible without limitations with the Märklin*
control unit 6021 or the control unit 6020 with
a travelling device control 80 f. Control units of
other manufacturers that transmit the Märklin*/
Motorola**-format with the functions ‚F1' to ‚F4'
can also control the ROCO Crane 46903 (observe
notes of the device manufacturer).
The operation with the Märklin*-Delta con-
trol 6604 is not possible.
Addressing the Crane
On delivery, the integrated decoder of the DCC-
Crane 46902 is set to the address 06 and that of the
AC-Crane 46903 to the address 30.
Changing the Address
To change the address of the Crane 46902 (DCC)
please follow the instructions enclosed with your
Digital-System.

and the ROCO Lokmaus
®
The address programming in Märklin*/Motorola**-
format is carried out as described below:
Press STOP and GO buttons simultaneously until a
reset is executed
STOP button to switch off the rail voltage
Enter address 80
Press the travel direction change-over and keep
depressed, then also press GO for at least 0.5
sec. in order to switch on rail voltage again
Decoder is in programming mode = LED flashes:
. . . . .
Enter the register to be changed (2-digit)
Press travel direction change-over to confirm = dou-
ble flashing: .. .. .. .. .. ..
Enter desired value
Press travel direction change-over to confirm = brief
permanent light, then double flashing: _____ .. .. ..
STOP button
GO button
Coupling the Motor and Trans-
mission of the Upper Part (crane
assembly)
On delivery, the transmission coupling between
upper- and lower part of the crane is disengaged
(lever in the middle of the side of the lower part
below – see Fig. 5, 1.), so that that the upper part
can freely rotate around the lower part. Before
commissioning the crane the small lever must be
engaged upward, so that the motor can rotate the
upper part (see Fig. 1).
When the coupling is engaged the upper
part must on no account be rotated by hand.
The crane jib and the crane-hook cable con-
trol may also only be actuated exclusively
via the motors – never by hand. Every use of
force leads to irreparable damage!
If the crane carriage is driven on the layout, the
upper part must be able to rotate freely. The trans-
mission coupling then must therefore no longer be
engaged! Thus to disengage the coupling the small
lever at the side of the lower carriage is to be pushed
