3 Preparing the device for use

3.1 Assembly

The backpack sprayer is dismantled before it is
dispatched. It must be fully reassembled again
before it is used.

The LX pump lever can be attached to either side
of the device.
When fitting the LX pump lever, the retaining
tube (b) of the LX pump lever should be facing
upwards and back (facing towards the tank
inscription).
Installation of the LX pump lever:
See "Assembly Instruction of the pump lever"
To store the device, raise the pump handle (c) of
the LX pump lever in the retaining tube (b) and
suspend the spray tube in both clips (d).
When working with the sprayer, lower the LX pump
lever (c) again in the retaining tube (b).

Safety clips (a) with 473D, 475 and 485:
The backpack sprayer is prepared at the factory for
left-hand side installation of the LX pump lever
(facing towards the tank inscription, Fig. 1).
If you prefer the LX pump lever to be mounted on
the other side, reposition the safety clips (a) on the
opposite side.
Installation of the spray tube:
x Fasten the threaded collar (e) on straight and
firmly screw the spray tube with O-ring
(16x3 mm) hand-tight onto the shut-off valve.
Do not use any tools!
When your work is completed, the spray tube
should be fitted into both holding clips (d).
Installation of the pressure gauge (depending on
the model):
x Unscrew the black threaded collar from the
shut-off valve.
x Screw the black threaded collar of the pressure
gauge accessory kit onto the shut-off valve.
x Insert the O-ring into the threaded collar and
screw the pressure gauge hand-tight into the
threaded collar. Do not use any tools!
3.2 Spray nozzle, filter element and
filling strainer
A red flat jet nozzle 04-F110 is pre-assembled as
the standard spray nozzle.
Delivery rate: See section 10
A filter element is fitted in the elbow piece
upstream of the spray nozzle (Fig. 2, mesh
aperture: 0.8 mm [0.031"], part no.: 40 74 922 25).
The backpack sprayer is equipped with a filling
strainer located in the filler neck of the spraying
agent tank (mesh aperture: 2.0 mm [0.079"], part
no.: 42 00 166 25).
Only the spray nozzles listed in section 10, the
above mentioned genuine filter element and filling
strainer must be used in this backpack sprayer.
