6.2. Automatic acoustic setting with ##* function (V1.51 or later)
Using the ##* function, the values for the
acoustic settings (volume, microphone sensi-
bility, transmission signal amplification, receive
signal amplification, echo suppressor damping)
can be determined automatically. Proceed as
follows: Call the door intercom device via a
DMTF-enabled telephone. After the door inter-
com device has accepted the call, wait at least
5 seconds and then quickly enter the button
sequence ##* security code 0/1/2.
The following modes are possible for the acous-
tic setting:
0
automatic acoustic setting for an operation
without additional amplifier
1
automatic acoustic setting for an operation
with additional amplifier
2
automatic acoustic setting
(Maintain mode: Operation with additional
amplifier, if it already activates, otherwise
operation without additional amplifier)

When calling the ##* function, make sure to
enter the numbers quickly (=no longer breaks
between the individual characters). When
a wrong security code is entered, the door
intercom device will hang up. If an automatic
acoustic setting is not possible, e.g. because
the additional amplifier is to be used, but there
is no additional 12 V
supply connected, the door intercom device will
emit an error beep after entering the mode.
Important: During the automatic acoustic
setting, there should be no background noise,
if possible, and the telephone used should not
be near the door intercom device and should
not be used in hands-free mode. During the
automatic setting, do not hold the telephone
receiver directly to your ear, because you will
generally hear a loud whistle sound at the end
of the automatic setting (feedback). This is
normal and required to determine the set-
tings. The automatic setting takes approx. 20
seconds. As soon as the automatic setting is
finished, the door intercom device will beep
twice.
