New appliance packaging

Dispose of appliance packaging properly.
Packaging material is not a toy.
Raw materials are saved and waste volumes reduced
through the processing methods employed and the use
of recyclables. The packaging can be returned to the
dealer or supplier. All packaging materials used are
environment-friendly and recyclable. The cardboard
consists of 80% to 100% recycled paper. Wooden parts
arenot chemically treated. The strapping is made from
polypropylene (PP).
Disposal of old appliances
Worn-out appliances should be rendered unusable:
After the mains plug has been withdrawn, or the connec-
tion dismantled by an electrician, sever and remove the
mains cable. Destroy or remove the door lock to prevent
playing children from locking themselves inside and
exposing themselves to mortal danger. The old appliance
contains valuable materials that should be recycled.
Make sure that your old appliance is disposed of pro-
perly. You can obtain addresses of collection or return
points for the disposal of old appliances from your local
government offices.
Please help to play your part in environment-friendly
disposal or recycling by following these guidelines.

Safety instructions and warnings

This appliance complies with the relevant safety regula-
tions for electrical appliances.
Before putting the appliance into use, please note:
Read the enclosen printed documentation carefully
before putting your washing machine into use. It con-
tains important information on appliance installation,
use and safety.
Repairs may only be performed by a trained technician.
Improper repairs may result in serious damage and
danger for the user.
Store all printed documentation carefully for other users
or subsequent users.
Install the appliance in accordance with the setting-up
instructions.
Remove the transport-securing device and store it in a
safe place.
Only use the washer-extractor when all removable
external panels are fitted so as to prevent access to cur-
rent carrying or rotating machine parts.
Do not connect an appliance which displays visible
damage. In case of doubt, ask Customer Service or a
dealer.

When using the appliance, please note:
This washer-extractor is exclusively intended for laun-
dry which is not contaminated with hazardous or
inflammable materials.
This washer-extractor is not to be used with dry clea-
ning solvents under any circumstances! The majority of
cleaning solvents are potentially flammable / explosive!
Do not store or use petrol, paraffin or any other easily
inflammable materials in the immediate vicinity of the
washer extractor. Fire and explosion hazard!
Do not leave children alone with the appliance.
Keep pets away from the appliance.
The appliance is exclusively intended for washing or
wet cleaning and spinning of all fabrics bearing a care
label indicating their suitability for these methods.
When washing at high temperatures, do not touch the
hot loading window (danger of burns).
When washing at high temperatures, hot steam may esca-
pe from the ventilation pipes behind the machine.
At the end of the program, please note:
Do not reach into the spinning drum.
Switch off the water tap.
If the main switch (on the building side) is turned off
without closing the water tap, the overflow protection
installed in the appliance is ineffective.
To prevent damage to the appliance, please note:
Do not stand on the appliance.
Do not sit, lean or support yourself on the loading door.

When moving the appliance, please note:
Fit the transport securing device.
Take care when moving the appliance (Danger of
injury)! Do not lift the appliance by its projecting parts!

Environmental protection and
efficiency recommendations
Your appliance will operate most efficiently and most
environmentally friendly if you fill it with the maximum
laundry quantity. Do not exceed the maximum specified
laundry quantity. See programme table, page 55.
How to save energy:
Whenever possible, select a programme with the sup-
plementary funtion «Reduced washing temperature».
With these programmes, equivalent washing results are
achieved through an extended washing period with sig-
nificantly reduced energy sonsumption figures.
How to save water, energy and detergent:
Dispense with a pre-wash for normally soiled laundry.
How to save energy and time:
Press the «Express» button for lightly soiled laundry.
