The pump can be damaged if it runs dry!

6.1

Checking how easily the pump rotates

After long idle periods, the pump must be checked for how easily it
rotates while it is switched off.


6.2

Switching the pump on

1. Open the valves completely.
The pump can be damaged if it runs dry!

2. Switch the pump on.
If the pump has a three-phase motor and it turns in the wrong direction,
3. For three-phase motors: Ensure that the motor turns in the direction
4. Check the mechanical seal for leaking

Ensure that the pump is full of water. This also applies to checking
the rotation direction.
Place screwdriver in the groove on the end of the motor shaft
(on the fan side) and turn it clockwise. – or –
If there is not a groove on the end of the motor shaft: Remove fan
cover and turn the fan wheel in the motor rotation direction
manually.
Purge air from pump and suction line.
the pump is louder and has a lower capacity.
