Maintenance and service
Flexair air separators do not require any specific maintenance.
The outlet (fig. 1, no. 4) may be opened at intervals to remove heavier installation contamination
(such as sand and welding waste). To make this easier, we recommend replacing the drain cover with
a ball cock (from DN 200 upwards available across the range). The venting valve (fig. 1, no. 2) must
be closed when the installation is filled up (or re-filled) in order to prevent damage (and concomitant
leaks) arising due to the high air velocity.
In the unlikely event that the venting valve (fig. 1, no. 2) should become contaminated and spring
a leak, it can be closed with the built-in screw.
The valve-end of the air chambers is machined down to 22 mm on the outside (from Flexair DN 65
upwards), to enable an air exhaust tube to be fitted to it easily. It must be installed so that it inclines
downwards (fig. 3, page 22).
The brass air chamber, including float and valve mechanism, is available as a spare part.
For the purposes of service, dimension A should be at least 30 mm (fig. 4, page 22).
: 10 bar.
: 120 °C.
4. Outlet/de-sludging opening.
5. Water chamber.
