I M P OR TA NT! T he battery pack is not charged w hen it is purchased. Bef ore using the sw eeper f or
the f irst time, place the battery pack in the battery charge and charge f or 3-5 hour. M ak e sure to read
all saf ety precautions, and f ollow the instructions in the Battery and C harger section. With regular use,
it w ill need shorter charging time. I f storing f or a prolonged period of time, remov e the battery.
When ready to use again, charge the battery pack f or at least 3-5 hour again.
TO R EM OV E (See Figure 2.)
• P ress the release button on the battery pack and remov e it f rom the product.
• G rasp the sw eeper f irmly, and pull the battery pack out of the handle.
NOTE: T he battery pack f its into the bottom of handle snugly in order to prev e nt accidental
dislodging. I t may req uire a strong pull to remov e it.

• A lign the tongue of the battery pack w ith the cav i ty in the sw eeper housing.
• G rasp the sw eeper f irmly.
• P ush the battery pack into the handle until the latch lock s into place.
• D o not use f orce w hen inserting the battery pack . I t should slide into position and " click " .

F ollow these instructions in order to av o id inj ury and to reduce the risk of electric shock or f ire:
• Replace the battery pack or the charger immediately if the battery case or charger cord is damaged.
• V erif y that the sw itch is in the O F F position bef ore inserting or remov i ng the battery pack .
• V erif y that the battery pack is remov e d and the sw itch is in the O F F position bef ore inspecting,
adj usting, or perf orming maintenance on any part of the sw eeper.
• Read, understand, and f ollow the instructions contained in the section entitled Battery C harging
P rocedure.
