• N ev e r use sw eeper to spread chemicals, f ertilizers, or any other tox i c substances. S preading
these substances could result in serious inj ury to the operator or bystanders.
• N ev e r place sw eeper on any surf ace, ex c e pt a hard, clean surf ace w hen motor is running.
G rav e l, sand, and other debris can be pick e d up by the air inlet and throw n at the operator or
bystanders, causing possible serious inj uries.
CH I L D SA F ETY
T ragic accidents can occur if the operator is not aw are of the presence of children.
• K eep children out of the w ork i ng area and under the w atchf ul care of a responsible adult.
• D o not allow children under the age of 1 4 to operate this hedger. C hildren w ho are 1 4
years of age and older must read and understand the operating instructions and saf ety
rules in this manual and must be trained and superv ised by a parent.
• S tay alert, and turn the hedger of f if a child or any other person enters the w ork ing area.
• Look behind and dow n f or small children bef ore and w hile w ork ing back w ards.
• U se ex treme care w hen approaching blind corners, doorw ays, shrubs, trees, or other
obj ects that may obscure your v iew of a child w ho may run into the path of the hedger.

contains chemicals k now n to cause cancer, birth def ects or other reproductiv e harm. S ome
ex amples of these chemicals are:
• Lead f rom lead-based paints
• C rystalline silica f rom brick s and cement and other masonry products, and
• A rsenic and chromium f rom chemically treated lumber.

w ork . T o reduce your ex posure to these chemicals, w ork in a w ell-v entilated area, and w ork w ith
particles.
