• A v o id accidental starting. Be sure sw itch is in the lock e d or of f position bef ore inserting battery
pack . C arrying sw eepers w ith your f inger on the sw itch or inserting the battery pack into a
sw eeper w ith the sw itch on inv i tes accidents.
• U se saf ety eq uipment. A lw ays w ear eye protection. D usk mask ,
hat, or hearing protection must be used f or appropriate conditions.
• D o not w ear loose clothing or j ew elry. C ontain long hair. Loose clothes, j ew elry, or long hair
can be draw n into air v e nts.
• D o not use on a ladder, roof top, tree, or other unstable support. S table f ooting on a solid surf ace
enables better control of the sw eeper in unex p ected situations.
• D o not use sw eeper if sw itch does not turn it on or of f . A sw eeper that cannot be controlled
w ith the sw itch is dangerous and must be repaired.
• F or household use only.
• Remov e or disconnect battery bef ore serv icing, cleaning or remov ing material f rom the gardening
appliance. S uch prev entiv e saf ety measures reduce the risk of starting the sw eeper accidentally.
• E x e rcise care in handling batteries in order not to short the battery w ith conducting materials
such as rings, bracelets, and k e ys. T he battery or conductor may ov e rheat and cause burns.
• C heck f or misalignment or binding of mov i ng parts, break a ge of parts, and any other condition
that may af f ect the sw eeper' s operation. I f damaged, hav e the sw eeper serv i ced bef ore using.
M any accidents are caused by poorly maintained sw eepers.
• K eep the sw eeper and its handle dry, clean and f ree f rom oil and grease. A lw ays use a clean
cloth w hen cleaning. N ev er use brak e f luids, gasoline, petroleum-based products, or any strong
solv e nts to clean your sw eeper. F ollow ing this rule w ill reduce the risk of loss of control and
deterioration of the enclosure plastic.

• Battery sw eepers do not hav e to be plugged into an electrical outlet; theref ore, they are alw ays
in operation condition. Bew are of possible hazards w hen not using your battery pow ered sw eeper
or w hen changing accessories. F ollow ing this rule w ill reduce the risk of electric shock ,
serious personal inj ury.
• D o not place battery pow ered sw eepers or their batteries near f ire or heat. D o not dispose of
the battery in a f ire. T he cell may ex p lode. C heck w ith local codes f or possible special disposal
instructions.
• D o not open or mutilate the battery. Released electrolyte is corrosiv e and may cause damage
to the eyes or sk i n. I t may be tox i c if sw allow ed.
• D o not crush, drop or damage the battery pack . D o not use a battery pack or charger that has
been dropped or receiv e d a sharp blow . A damaged battery is subj ect to ex p losion.
