This menu features the functions particular to the palm as follows:
A) Connecting the palm to a PC via standard RS-232C (jumps to menu nr. 26).
B) Modifying the Personal Identification Number (PIN) of the palm which is to be inserted into
all the memory modules it will read or write (jumps to menu nr. 27).
C) Activating/deactivating program buttons for the display receiver (jumps to menu nr. 28).
D) Setting the channel strip modes (jumps to menu nr. 31).
Pressing the "ESC" button takes you back to the main menu (nr. 03).
Indicates that the RS232 communications serial line connecting the personal computer to
the PGM486.
During the serial line connection the palm is directly controlled by the PC and normal functions
are not available (only the palm voltage control is active).
Message regarding the Personal Identification Number. It represents the personalised palm
serial number which will also identify the memory modules programmed by the palm. To insert a
new PIN number type it in (the system will refuse the number if it exceeds the limit) and confirm
it by pressing "ENT". Pressing the "ESC" button will cancel the procedure and leave the PIN
number as it is. You will be move to the advanced functions menu nr. 25.
This menu gives you access to the security function for the receiver (at the moment it is only
available for the S486 receiver with display).
A Enables the program buttons on the receiver card. You may then insert and cancel codes
directly from the receiver.
B Disables the program buttons on the receiver card. It is now not possible to insert and
cancel codes directly from the receiver.
Lets the user know that the receiver buttons have been enabled or disabled as requested
in the menu.
You will be automatically moved back to the menu after 1 second.
Lets the user know that it is not possible to modify the status of the program buttons in the
receiver. No other information is given about the problem. You will be automatically moved
back to the menu after 1 second.
Programming the channel module functions (strip).
A Choose the channel function which you wish to alter from the four available: A, B, C, D.
B Specifies the function mode for the chosen strip from the following possibilities: impulsive
(represented by the letter "I"), timer controlled (represented by the letter "T"), On/Off (repre-
sented by the letter "O").
C This function allows you to set the time for the timer controlled relay function. To insert a
value press the button "C" and when the symbol "#" appears you may insert a number from
1 to 255 seconds (the maximum time possible is 4 minutes and 15 seconds). To correct an
inserted number press button "B" (symbol "-") cancels the last digit from the right of the visu-
alised number. Press "ENT" to terminate the procedure and confirm the value. Press "ESC"
if you wish to terminate the procedure and maintain the previous value.
D Saves the settings carried out in the memory module.
Waits for one of the buttons on the transmitter (that is to be programmed) to to pressed.
Once a correct function has been received it will sound a beep and move you to the enable
code insertion menu nr. 33).
Ask for the insertion of an enabling code. This code could be for a lost or stolen transmit-
ter, for a replacement transmitter or for any transmitter present in the installation for the
addition operation. Press the "ENT" button to confirm the displayed value and caary on
with the function which moves to menu nr. 35. Press the "ESC" button to go back to menu
nr. 25 and cancel the procedure.
This menu defines the functions which are to be enabled in the transmitters to memorise.
The A,B,C,D, buttons are associated with the relative channel functions and the pres-
ence of a letter on the display identifies the presence of the relative channel function (no
letter means no channel function has been enabled). Press the "ENT" key to confirm the
displayed value.
