Specific to the IUoU mode
Once the charge is finished, the charger is in floating mode
compensates for the self sicharge .
Specific to the IUIo mode
Nb : The batium does not switch to floating mode once the charge is over. If the battery stays connected afer the
end of charge, every 72h, the batium 25/24 performs a charging cycle to compensate for self-discharge.
Specific to «SOS Recovery» mode
• Once the battery is desulfated, the Batium resumes a regular IUoU charge.
• If it does not succeed in recovering the battery, the display shows «out»
9. When the battery is charge (green
110. Disconnect the power supply cable.
11. Disconnect the clamps / or the battery connector.
In the event of a power cut, the BATIUM saves the state of charge (except in « SOS Recovery » mode), and re-
sumes the charge using the latest settings.
« SOS RECOVERY » FUNCTION
This mode is for deeply discharged batteries (Anomaly 2, table p.13).
After connecting the battery, the Batium analyses the battery state of health: display
If after 1 minute, the « SOS Recovery » indicator flashes, this means that the battery is sulfated (due to a long deep
discharge).
The « SOS Recovery » uses a specific curve to perform a 24h recovery cycle.
To activate this feature, follow these steps :
1.Disconnect the battery from the vehicle. (OVERVOLTAGE DANGER)
2.Connect the Batium to the battery.
3.Connect the Batium to the mains then position the switch to «ON».
4.Select the IUoU charging curve.
5.Activate the feature by pressing the «SOS recovery» button for 5 seconds until the indicator (p.44) switches on.
6.Choose the charging voltage and the charging speed.
7.Do not touch anything for a few seconds, the desulfation process starts.
FORCED CHARGE FUNCTION
In the event of a deeply discharged battery (voltage inferior to 2 V), the Batium does not start the charge and signals
it :
• The dipslay's leds rotate
• The indicators « battery voltage », « capacity » and « charging curve » are switched on.
To force the charge, press the button 2 for 5 seconds , until the Batium displays CHE (check). The charger detects a
battery with a voltage above 0.5 V (± 0,3 V).
Like other modes, this step is made of 2 phases :
1. A diagnostic phase (battery voltage analysis).
Nb : For 12 or 24 V batteries, during this phase, the Batium detects a deeply discharged battery and suggests a 6
V charge. To confirm or correct this voltage (12 or 24 V), rapidly press the button 2 (before the Batium starts the
charge) (Anomaly 6 p.13).
2. A recovery phase (voltage rises). If the Batium does not succeed in recovering the battery, it stops after 30 mi-
nutes.
The verification step (CHE) finished, the Batium starts a normal IUoU charge. For further details about the charge
process, refer to «Connections and general operations»-.
BATIUM 25/24
: it can remain connected to the battery and
indicator), position the switch to « OFF ».
