Switching on/off
The "Display" menu appears.
u Press the "Turn On Text" 8 softkey:
• : The welcome text is switched
on.
• : The welcome text is switched
off.
When you have fi nished making your
changes,
u press the OK button B repeatedly un-
til you reach the desired menu level for
additional settings or completely exit
the menu.
Changing the welcome text
The welcome text is factory set to "THE
ADVANTAGE IN YOUR CAR!". You can enter
your own welcome text of up to 35 charac-
ters. Small and capital letters, numbers and
special characters are available for this pur-
pose.
u Press the MENU button A.
u Press the NEXT button 2.
u Press the "Various Settings" ;
softkey.
The "Various" menu is displayed.
u Press the "Turn On Text" softkey 8.
You can now edit the welcome text:
u button @ to select
Use the or
the desired character for the current
position.
u
Change to a different position by press-
ing the or button >.
After entering the complete text,
u press the OK button B.
The new name is stored. You are returned to
the "Various" menu.

Adjusting the volume

You can adjust the volume in steps from
0 (off) to 50 (maximum).
To increase the volume,
u turn the volume control 5 clockwise.
To decrease the volume,
u turn the volume control 5 counter-
clockwise.
Note:
If the device remains mute despite
the adjusted volume, check whether
the internal amplifi er is switched off
and, if necessary, switch it on again
(see the section "Switching the inter-
nal amplifi er on/off" in the chapter
"Amplifi er / Subout").
Adjusting the power-on volume
(On Volume)
You can set the power-on volume. To set a
specifi c power-on volume,
u press the MENU button A.

Press the "Volume Settings" softkey

The "Volume" menu is displayed.
u Press the "On Volume" softkey ;.
The current power-on volume is displayed.

To help you adjust the setting more easily,
