Is there any visible damage to rope strands? (e.g. kink in rope
guides)
Are all system components still properly connected together?
(Particular attention is to be paid to locking the lock nuts of ring
bolts or rope intermediate brackets!)
Is the system sign installed, legible and filled in correctly?
Is there any identifiable damage due to lightning strikes?
Are there any signs of external effects or tampering?
Are the seal stickers intact?
Are the lock washers on the bolts of end terminal and tensioner
devices inserted correctly?
Are the lock nuts secured on the tensioning element?
If installed:
Is the lifeline system connected correctly to the lightning
protection system? (see ZVDH - leaflet "Äußerer Blitzschutz auf
Dach und Wand" (External lightning protection on roof and wall)

Is the corresponding carabiner hook present with 3-way fastener
and intact? (Compare the serial numbers of the carabiner and
rope glider)
Does the rope glider run smoothly over the intermediate rope
holders and the corner protectors?
