4. If you have to add coolant more than once a month,
or add more than one quart at a time, have an
Authorized Jacobsen Distributor check the cooling
system.
Damage to the engine can occur
CAUTION
when adding cold water to a hot
engine.
Do not pour cold water into a hot engine. Do not
operate engine without proper coolant mixture.
Install cap and tighten securely.
5. Keep the hood and radiator air passages clean.
Loosen the oil cooler pivot hardware and tilt the
cooler (G) forward as shown Figure 7E. Place a
work light on the engine side of radiator (E) to
inspect the air passage through the fins.
7.17 ROPS ____________________________________________________________________
1. The operator's seat, seat belt, mounting hardware
and any accessories within the ROPS, should be
inspected regularly and all damaged parts replaced
immediately.
2. Once the ROPS has been subjected to any form of
impact it should be replaced.
Altering the ROPS will lessen its
CAUTION
ability to function properly.
Do not loosen or remove bolts; do not weld, drill,

6. Open trap door (J) under the radiator then place a
deflector shield (F) between the radiator (E) and oil
cooler (G) to prevent blowing debris into the oil
cooler.
a. Use compressed air, up to 30 psi (206 kPa), to
clean the fins. A special blow gun (H) is available
through an authorized Jacobsen Distributor.
b. Direct air stream from the front of the radiator
towards the deflector shield and out the trap
door. Clean the entire radiator.
c.
Clean the trap door and the entire compartment
below the radiator.
d. Remove deflector, place the oil cooler in the
upright position and tighten pivot hardware.
Close trap door.
7. If you continue to experience engine overheating,
contact an authorized Jacobsen Distributor for thor-
ough cleaning instructions.

3. Check and retorque all hardware - Section 12.1. All
replacement components used for the ROPS must
be as specified in the Jacobsen Parts Catalog.
