▷ Afterwards, place the universal holder with the
model onto the scan base plate of the scanner
and press it against the scan base plate.

NOTE:
When using modelling wax not supplied by the
manufacturer, it can occur that the model
becomes loose/detaches during the scan proc-
ess.
Insufficient scan results or damage of mechani-
cal components and/or the model are possible.
▷ Make sure that the modelling wax provides
sufficient holding force during the scan proc-
ess.
6.2.2 Single model fixation directly on the
scan base plate
Models with Splitex counter plate can be placed
directly on the scan base plate in the scanner.

Always position model pairs in such a man-
ner that they are within the scan focus. In
the scanner, the scan focus is located on
the level of the tilting axis (see figure 14).

Model pairs are affixed exclusively using the uni-
versal holder. Model pairs can be affixed either
with a rubber band or with use of the fixation
spring levers.
The placement of the model pairs on the
universal holder should be performed out-
side of the scanner.
6.3.1 Placement of model pairs with inte-
grated articulation elements
Model pairs with integrated articulation elements
(e.g. Triple-Tray), at which the jaw articulation is
already determined, can be directly attached to
the universal plate.
▷ Apply modelling wax uniformly on the universal
holder.
