Application
5.1
Staining and Glazing
The stains can be mixed among each other.
The stains contain glaze compound. Therefore,
mixing stains with glaze is not required.
The stains and glaze compound can be applied
together in a single workstep.
The crown/bridge must be smooth or pol-
ished. Not recommended for sand-blasted
surfaces.
▷ Clean frames intensively using ultrasonic bath
and/or dental steam cleaner.
▷ Before use, mix stain and glaze compound with
a glass spatula.
▷ Remove the required quantity of stain or glaze
compound with a glass spatula.
▷ Apply the stain and glaze compounds onto the
partly smooth, partly polished zirconium oxide
surfaces.
The applied stain and glaze compounds should
not exceed a plating thickness of 1 mm..
A too thick application or consistency can
cause the formation of stains.
▷ Adjust the consistency and stain intensity using
the Working Liquid. The more Liquid, the more
viscous and less color-intensive the stain.
▷ In areas where no stain is applied, completely
coat the object with glaze compound. The basal
surface of the pontics can also be covered or
coated.
When the stain/glaze has dried:
▷ Bring the stain/glaze back to its original condi-
tion using the Reflow Liquid (shake well before
using).
5.2
Stain and Glaze Firing
The firing does not have to take place in a
vacuum.
The Stain and Glaze firing can take place in a sin-
gle process.
_ Starting temperature: 450 °C
_ Drying period: 5 min
_ Temperature increase: 40 °C/min
_ Final temperature: 850 °C
_ Dwell time: 1 min
_ For bridges with more than five units and/or
massive intermediate units, we recommend
step-by-step long-term cooling to 500°C .
The resulting appearance is glossy.
When the desired shade was not achieved, correc-
tive adjustment is possible by applying another fir-
ing run.
