Possible Cause
Loose screws on the motor, its
fixing pieces or the mower housing.
Damage to the cutter bar or cutter
(unbalanced running), cutter bar
holder on the motor drive shaft
loose.
Accelerator lever is not in the
CHOKE position.
Accelerator lever is not in the
START position.
Sparking plug defective or fuel
tank empty.
The cylinder, piston and bearing
of the crankshaft have seized up.
No motor oil in the crankcase.
Cutter too blunt.
Cutting height set too low.
Slipping drive belt.
Drive belt broken.
Clutch cable stretched.
Remedy
Tighten all screws.
Tighten the cutter and cutter bar
fixture screws.
Have damaged parts replaced by
the Brill service station.
The accelerator lever should be
set to the CHOKE position (see
section
4, Preparing the machine
for use).
The accelerator lever should be
set to the START position (see
section
4, Preparing the machine
for use).
Clean the sparking plug and/or
fill fuel tank respectively.
Workshop overhaul of the motor
necessary by the authorised
specialist dealer.
Change and/or turn cutter,
respectively. Set the cutting height
a little higher.
Obtain assistance from a Brill
Service Station.
The drive belt is to be replaced.
Obtain assistance from a Brill
Service Station.
Readjust the clutch cable
(see section 6, Maintenance of
the wheel tractor drive).
