Make sure to use the correct
supply voltage.
The supply plug will slightly warm
up whilst charging.
Charging should only take place
in a dry space and never in direct
sunlight. Care should be taken
to ensure that no lightly flammable
substances are in the immediate
vicinity whilst charging.
The Accu-Pack AP 12 should not be
left to charge more than 24 hours
otherwise the useful lifespan will
be shortened.
When charging is finished and
the Accu-Pack AP 12 has been re-
moved from the charger appliance,
there is no electric hazard from
the exposed appliance plug.
4.5.1. Starting with the electric
starter
Place the lawn mower on a flat
part of the lawn.
The accelerator lever should be
set to the START position when the
motor is cold, and to MAX when
the motor is warm.
The Accu-Pack AP 12 (Fig. 6,
Pos. 1) should be inserted. The
safety stirrup (Fig. 6, Pos. 2)
should be pushed down on the
handlebar.
The ignition key (Fig. 6, Pos. 3)
should be inserted and turned to
the START position. The starter
motor should be engaged for a
maximum of 5 seconds. The igni-
tion key should be released as
soon as the motor fires. The ignition
key then returns automatically to
the OPERATE running position.
After starting the motor cold, the
accelerator lever should be
to
MAX.
The Accu-Pack is automatically
re-charged whilst the motor is
running.
Switching off
The safety stirrup (Fig. 6, Pos. 2)
should be released to switch off
the motor. An integrated brake will
bring the cutters to a standstill with-
in 3 seconds.
The ignition key should be removed
to prevent improper use (Fig. 6,
Pos. 3).
The Accu-Pack AP 12 should be
regularly re-charged by means of
the charger appliance.
4.5.2. Storage, care and safe-
keeping of the Accu-Pack AP 12
The Accu-Pack AP 12 should
please be stored in a dry frost-
proof place. Direct sunlight should
also be avoided.
Care should be taken to ensure
that the contacts of the Accu-Pack
AP 12 remain clean. These should
be cleaned with a soft dry cloth
if dirty. Never
clean them
running water.
If you do not use the Accu-Pack
AP 12 for a longer time period
or if you want to store it, then it
should, by all means, be fully
charged beforehand. A gradual
discharge will be experienced
during storage. After a longer
storage period, the Accu-Pack
should always be re-charged
before the first use.

Disposal
The Accu-Pack AP 12 con-

tains nickel-cadmium cells.

The Accu-Pack AP 12 should not
be disposed of with the household
garbage after the end of its useful
lifespan, but should be properly
disposed of. It should, by all means,
be returned to
other specialist dealer, who sell
the Gardena accu system V12.
Should the cutters become blocked
by a foreign body or the motor be-
come overloaded, the safety stirrup
should be released, the motor is
automatically switched off. The for-
eign body should be removed if
necessary.
Caution ! The engine should

not be left running in en-
closed spaces as there is a danger
of poisoning from carbon monoxide
fumes.
Caution ! When starting

the engine, ensure that
the cutter is able to turn freely.
If necessary, the lawn mower can
be tipped over sideways so that
the cutter faces away from the
operator.

by binding the clutch lever to the
bar, as otherwise danger of injury
arises and the engine can no longer

In order to engage the wheel trac-
tor drive, the wheel tractor drive
clutch lever (Fig. 7, Pos. 1) is to
be pulled up to the handlebar.
The wheel tractor drive is disen-
gaged by releasing the wheel
tractor drive clutch lever (Fig. 7,
Pos. 1).
