General safety precautions
The relevant set of installation instructions must be
followed when fitting attachments to the basic carrier
bars (bicycle rack, roof box, etc.).
3
Please note that the vehicle's dimensions change as
a result of the basic carrier bars being fitted.
For reasons of safety and fuel economy, the basic
carrier bars should be removed from the vehicle
when they are not needed.
Do not put the car through an automatic car wash
with the basic carrier bars fitted.
Important
The load placed on the basic carrier bar
accessories must not limit the movement of the
power tilt/sliding sunroof or the power
tilt/sliding Panorama roof. They could otherwise
be damaged when being raised.
Fitting
The installation shown in these instructions is for the
rear basic carrier bar on the C-Class. The installation
of the front basic carrier bar on the C-Class as well as
the installation of the carrier bars on the GLK and
E-Class is to be carried out in the same manner.
Enlist the help of a second person when fitting the
carrier bars.
