Risk of injury and accident
Each time the basic carrier bars and/or
accessories are fitted to the roof, before each trip
and periodically during longer journeys, check all
the screws on the basic carrier bars to make sure
that they are secure, and retighten them if
necessary. Repeat these checks at regular
intervals as road-surface conditions dictate, and
at least every 1500 miles (2500 km) of
continuous use.
Do not use any lubricant on the screws of the
basic carrier bars. The screws could work loose,
causing the basic carrier bars and the load to
become detached from your vehicle and thus
injure you and others and/or cause damage to
property, including damage to your vehicle.
Removal
To remove the basic carrier bars, follow the steps for
fitting them in reverse order.
Fitting the cover strip
If no accessories are fitted, then the cover strips
should be attached in order to minimise wind noise.

Fitting roof-top accessories on the basic carrier
bars:
1. Using the key, unlock the covers (9) on both
sides and fold them down.
Important
Do not place any weight on the folded-down
cover. The cover could otherwise be damaged or
could break off.
2. Slide the roof-top accessory bracket in the
groove (13) of the basic carrier bar.
