1. Using the key (3), unlock the covers (9) on both
sides and lift them up.
2. Loosen the screws (10).
Important
On E-Class vehicles (model series S 212), the
basic carrier bar is to be placed behind the
centre foot of the roof rail.
3. As shown in the rear left anchorage point, place
the basic carrier bar (2) in front of the centre foot of
the roof rail so it interlocks. The clamping claw (12)
and support (11) must fit perfectly against the rail.
4. Using the torque wrench (4), tighten the
screws (10) (clockwise) until the arrows are lined up
at "Nm" (A).
5. Close the covers (9) on both sides, and lock them
using the key (3).

6. Mount the front basic carrier bar at a

distance (X) as described in steps 1 to 5.

E-Class
1. Distance measured between the inner sides of both
basic carrier bars.
