Mounting
The installation shown in these instructions is for the
rear basic carrier bar on the C-Class. The installation
of the front basic carrier bar on the C-Class as well as
the installation of the carrier bars on the GLK and
E-Class is to be carried out in the same manner.
Carry out the installation with the help of a second
person.

Risk of injury/damage
Please follow these installation instructions
carefully. Caution should be exercised to avoid
damage to the vehicle while installing the carrier
bars. Also, be careful not to injure yourself or
others while installing and adjusting the carrier
bars or loading items on them.

A
1. Using the key (3), unlock the covers (9) on both
sides and lift them up.
2. Loosen the screws (10).
Important
On E-Class vehicles (model series S 212), the
basic carrier bar is to be placed behind the
center foot of the roof rail.
3. As shown in the rear left anchorage point, place
the basic carrier bar (2) in front of the center foot of
the roof rail so it interlocks. The clamping claw (12)
and supports (11) must fit perfectly against the rail.
4. Using the torque wrench (4), tighten the
screws (10) (clockwise) until the arrows are lined up
at "Nm" (A).
5. Close the covers (9) on both sides, and lock them
using the key (3).
