8.5.1 Conformance with UL/cUL

MKD system products covered in UL file number E217428, Power Conversion Equipment:
MKD (Modular Kollmorgen Drive) Decentral System, consisting of

MKD-C is suitable for use on a circuit capable of
delivering not more than 42kA rms symmetrical
amperes, 480 V maximum, when protected by J
Class Fuses.
Only for use in WYE 480V/277V supply sources.
Maximum surrounding air temperature 40°C.
MKD-C are intended to be used in a pollution
degree 2 environment.
MKD-C : Use 75°C copper wire only.
MKD-C : CAUTION: Risk of Electrical Shock!
Capacitors can have dangerous voltages
present up to 5 minutes after switching off the
supply power. For increased safety, measure the
voltage in the DC bus link and wait until the
voltage is below 50 V.
Internal Overload Protection operates prior to
reaching the 130% of the motor full load current.
Integral solid state short circuit protection does
not provide branch circuit protection. Branch
circuit protection must be provided in
accordance with the National Electrical Code
(Canada: Canadian Electrical Code, Part I) and
any additional local codes.
The following Cartridge fuse types are recommended for branch circuit protection:

environnement de pollution de niveau 2.
MKD-C: Utilisez seulement un fil cuivre 75°C.
MKD-C : ATTENTION: Risque de choc électrique!
Des tensions dangereuses peuvent persister dans les
condensateurs jusqu'à 5 minutes après la mise hors
tension. Pour plus de sécurité, mesurez la tension
dans la liaison de bus CC et attendez qu'elle soit
inférieure à 50 V.
La protection interne contre les surcharges fonctionne

moteur.

solide ne fournit pas de protection de circuit de
