6 Precautionary instructions
If the use of this device may have caused or contributed to an undesirable event such as
death or serious injury to the user, the manufacturer AND the competent authority of the
Member State MUST be notified immediately!
Read this Instructions for Use carefully before using the equipment.
Do not lift the couch by the table top parts or the all-around control.
Immediately after unpacking the couch, check whether the package contains all the items
listed above, and check the couch for any damage.
In case of damage, contact your local representative. Do NOT use the equipment!
Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, UV radiation, rain, excessive dust, moisture, mechanical
vibrations, and shocks.
The ManuXelect couches are not intended for use in so-called "wet rooms" (hydrotherapy
rooms).
The device may not be used in close proximity (i.e. less than 2 metres) to shortwave or device.
The ManuXelect should be placed on a flat surface.
Turn the adjustable foot until it touches the ground and the couch is standing stable.
For correct assembly and safe use of possible optional accessories one must consult the
separately provided documents included with the optional accessories.
Mains supply connections must comply with the national requirements regarding medical
rooms.
Prior to connection of this device to the mains supply, check that the voltage and frequency
stated on the type plate correspond with the available mains supply.
The ManuXelect is only meant to be used by competent personnel in physiotherapy,
rehabilitation or adjacent areas. Avoid any use of the equipment by unauthorized personnel.
When used by children, supervision by a knowledgeable (para)medic is obligatory. At all times
keep children away from the equipment when no supervision is at hand or use a safety switch.
Use both hands to change the couch settings: one hand for unlocking and the other to adjust
the section.
Never adjust a section when it supports the full weight of the patient! Each section of
this ManuXelect is supported by gas springs. As well as easing operation, they offer full
support of the sections. However, these gas springs are not strong enough to lift a section
while it supports the full weight of the patient.
A maximum patient's weight of 150 kg is allowed with the 6000N motor KL95 (standard
motor) when the height of the couch is being adjusted.
A maximum patient's weight of 250 kg is allowed with the 9000N motor SL80 (optional
motor) when the height of the couch is being adjusted.
Be aware of the duty cycle of the motor. The motor is not designed for continuous operation.
For every 25 seconds the motor is running, it needs 400 seconds to cool down. If you do use
the motor considerably longer without allowing it to cool down sufficiently, a thermal cut
shuts off the power and protects the motor against overheating. In that case, let the motor
cool down until it functions again.
The couch is not anti-static.
For safety reasons, the wheels of the unit should be retracted before the beginning of a
treatment.
Never let your full weight rest on the switch bar!
Ensure that you will never rest your feet on the all-around-operation.
Especially when seated next to the couch it can lead to a dangerous situation in which your
leg can be jammed between the section and the all-around-operation.
