5.4 Stabilizers installation
5.4.1 Removable Stabilizers (optional)
The removable stabilizers are designed to be
installed on top of the backrest to facilitate
installing and removing the VALEO Backrest.
To close the stabilizer, push in on the release clip 1,
to open the stabilizer push in on the release clip 2,
as shown in figure 6.
5.4.3 Stabilizer installation
Use the hardware shown in figure 7 to install the stabilizers. Place the plastic spacer K
(split plastic tube) using the small part of the backpost (Figure 8). Keep it on the top of
the backpost for now. Position the stabilizer M and N on the backposts L using the small
part of the backpost with the peak pointing down for the high stabilizer and the peak
pointing up for the low stabilizer (Figure 9). Slide the high stabilizer M on the plastic
spacer and the low stabilizer N on the lower structure of the backpost (Figure 10). Install
the hardware to fix the stabilizer. At this stage, secure lightly, as the adjustment will be
made later.

Ensure the mounting hardware are secure when adjustments are made before
using the backrest, failure to follow these suggestions may result in serious
bodily injury to the user and damage to the wheelchair.
Make sure you hear the locking click sound when you set the backrest in the
stabilizers.
