BOAX- -B Mat P

BOAX- -B Mat P- -da:
valve with double acting pneumatic
actuated BOAX- - B with ACTAIR- - B
BOAX- -B Mat P- -sa :
valve with single acting pneumatic
actuated BOAX- - B with DYNACTAIR- - B
Safety instructions
- - The actuator should be used within the pressure mentioned limits
only, operating the actuator over the pressure limit wil damage the
internal actuator parts.
- - Operating the actuator over or under the temperature limits will
damage the internal and external parts.
- - Operating the actuator in corrosive environments without the
required external protection will damage the actuator.
- - Before installation, service or maintenance, verify that the actuator is
not pressurized, disconnect the air lines and make sure that the air
ports are vented.
- - Do not remove the end caps while the actuator is installed in the line,
or while the actuator is under pressure.
- - Do not disassemble the caps end spring cartridge, this operation
should be done by trained personnel only, this operation could
causes personal injury.
- - Before mounting the actuator onto the valve make sure that the
valve rotation is according with the actuator operating rotation, and
the upper shaft slot orientation is also correct.
- - Before installing the actuated valve do cycling test for a while to
ensure the correct mechanical mounting and actuator/valve
operations.
- - The actuator installation shall be done according to and in
observance with the local and national laws regulation.
KSB can not be responsible for any damage to people, animals or
things due to an improper use of the product.
Motive energy
- - The operating media should be dry and filtered compressed air,
lubricated, or inert gases compatible with internal actuator parts and
lubricants.
- - The filtration must grant a maximum particle size that does not
excedeed 30mm.
- - The operating media should have its dew point at least 10° C (18 ° F)
below the minimum working temperature. The dew point must not
be less than - -30 ° C (- -22 ° F).
Pneumatic actuator dismantling
- - Operate the actuator to bring the valve into closed or opened
position
- - Disconnect the air supply
- - If needed, remove the limit switches box
- - Unlock the 4 nuts of the valve mounting plate
- - Remove the actuator from the valve
- - The shaft flats end position of the valve indicates the position disc of
valve.

Pneumatic actuator mounting onto the valve
ACTAIR- -B has been designed to close the valve in clockwise
direction.
It is designed to be fitted in N position: actuator perpendiculary to the
piping.
- - Operate the actuator up to obtain the same positon (opened or
closed) than the valve: the position of the flat end of the valve shaft
indicates the disc valve position
- - Screw studs and screws for assemblying the adaptation base to
actuator or adaptation base. It is recommended to glue them with
Loctite 222 and tightness paste Loxeal 58- -31 or equivalent between
the bases
- - Fit the base and the actuator onto the valve
- - Screw the 4 nuts onto studs and lock them according to the indicated
torque in the table below

- - Connect the air supply
- - If needed, refit the electrical switchbox and adjust it in accordance
with its documentation. Actuator visual pointer can be left onto
actuator (sizes up to DYNACTAIR- -B25) or remove it
- - Check the correct operation of the sub- -unit and if needed, adjust the
closing limit stops (28)
ACTAIR- - B: Stroke closing adjustment
Double acting actuator is provided as standard with 10 ° stroke
adjustment from 0 ° to 10 ° .
The stroke adjustment of the actuator mounted onto valve should be
done with the valve free of any flow pressure.
This operation must be done with the valve/actuator fitted on pipe line
or in a vice.
- - Supply air pressure to plot 2 to open the valve and to push the
actuator pistons inward.
- - Remove the nuts (18) and its O- -rings (24)
- - Screw in clockwise direction the adjusting screw (28) of only one
actuator side
- - Supply the air pressure to port 4 to close then:
- - this closes the valve and pushes the actuator pistons outward
and against the adjusting screw (28)
- - unscrew the adjusting screw (28) to obtain the correct position - -
(see table below). This table defines the average drive variation
angle a for each full turn of the adjusting screw (28).

A valve too closed may not open or open very brutally if the air
pressure is too low.
- - check the valve position, if it is not enough repeat the operation
from the beginning.
- - when the position is correct, screw the other screw 18
- - tightly screw the nuts (18) with its O- -ring (24) until contact
against the piston.
- - The actuator is now ready to operate correctly.
