Maintenance/Cleaning

Repair and servicing work not
described in this manual should
always be carried by our Service
Centre. Use only original parts.
Do not use any cleaning agents or
solvents. These could cause irrepa-
rable damage to the equipment.
Chemical substances can attack
the plastic parts of the equipment.
Pull out the power plug before car-
rying out any work on the equip-
ment.
Wear gloves while handling the
blades.
Carry out the following maintenance and
cleaning work regularly. This will guarantee
a long and reliable service life.
Before each use, check the hedge
trimmer for obvious defects such as
loose, worn or damaged parts. Check
the secure seating of the bolts in the
cutter bar.
Check coverings and safety devices for
damage and correct seating. Replace
these where necessary.
Keep the ventilation slots (
motor housing (cutting head) (
the device clean. Use a damp cloth or
a brush to do this. Do not wash down
the equipment with water, or submerge
it in water.
Always keep the equipment clean.
After using the equipment, it is im-
perative to:
- Clean the blade
(with an oily cloth);
- Oil the blade shaft
with an oil can or
spray.
Slight notches on the blades can be
evened out. For this, sand down the
blades with an oil stone. Only sharp
blades can cut properly.
Blunt, bent or damaged blades must
be changed.

Storage

Keep the trimmer in the blade guard
supplied, in a dry place and out of
reach of children.
Store the unit horizontally or assured
against falling over. Bring the cutting
unit in storage location.
Store the battery only in a partially
charged state. The state of charge
should be 40 – 60 % over a longer
storage period.
Store the equipment between 10° C
and 25° C. During storage, avoid ex-
treme cold or heat so the battery does
not lose power.
During a longer storage period, check
the state of charge of the battery and
recharge if necessary roughly every
3 months.
