3. INSTALLATION
NB
The drive must be disengaged during installation.
3.1. Assembling the manual release handle
1) Insert the release handle into the specific housing on the motor.
2) Screw in the release handle.
3) Fit the screw guard.
3.2. Unlocking the drive - Fig. 5
1) Turn the key a quarter of a turn to the le .
2) Turn the release handle to the right.
NB
Do not forcibly push the gate. Hold the gate over its entire travel
during manual manoeuvres.
3.3. Installing the drive
3.3.1. Fitting the mounting system
The mounting kit provided is to be used on a concrete base. For all
other types of support, use the appropriate fittings.
1) Position the template:
• parallel to the gate,
• with the symbol on the pinion pointing towards the gate,
• by moving it by 25 mm in relation to the front line of the rack (if the
rack is fitted with a cover, measure from the line on the rack, not on
the cover),
• so that it does not obstruct movement and to ensure the gate is able
to open and close completely.
2) Mark the location for the ground mountings.
3) Drill to a depth of 60 mm.
4) Push in the coach screws.
5) Place a washer and nut onto each coach bolt.
6) Tighten the nuts to secure the coach screws into the ground.
7) Add a nut to each coach bolt and screw them on in order to position
them 23 mm from the ground.
8) Mount the metal plate onto the nuts.
9) Check that the metal plate is level.
10) Mount the motor onto the metal plate.
11) Check the dimensions indicated in Fig. 7 of the installation instructions
- illustrations.
12) Add a washer and nut to each coach bolt without tightening them.
3.3.2. Mounting the motor
1) Push the motor towards the gate.
2) Ensure the pinion is correctly positioned under the rack.
3) Set the height of the motor and/or the rack to ensure a clearance of
approximately 2 mm between the rack and the pinion.
NB
This setting is important to prevent premature wear of the pinion
and rack; the pinion must not be supporting the weight of the gate.
4) Check:
• the adjustment nuts are all in contact with the metal plate,
• the gate slides correctly,
• the clearance between the rack and pinion does not vary significantly
over the gate's travel.
5) Tighten the nut on each coach bolt to fix the motor in place.

3.3.3. Installing the rigid end stops
NB
Installation of opening and closing rigid end stops is mandatory.
The closing position is memorised at the start of the gate travel
auto-programming process.
The opening position is memorised during gate auto-programming
when the gate reaches the opening end stop.
If the gate is not equipped with end stops, install them as indicated in
figure 10.
3.3.4. Connection to the power supply
1) Connect the live (L) to terminal 1 of the control unit.
2) Connect the neutral (N) to terminal 2 of the control unit.
3) Connect the earth wire to the earth terminal on the base of the motor.
NB
The earth wire must always be longer than the live and neutral
to ensure that it is the last to be disconnected if the connector is
pulled out.
The cable clamps supplied must be used.
For all low-voltage cables, ensure that they can withstand traction
of 100 N. Check that the conductors do not move when this traction
is applied.
3.3.5. Re-engaging the drive
1) Place the gate approximately 1 m from its closed position.
2) Turn the release handle to the le .
3) Move the gate manually until the drive mechanism locks.
4) Turn the key a quarter of a turn to the right.
