Useful information

This manual describes all models and all
standard and optional equipment of your
vehicle available at the time of publication
of this manual. Country-specific differen-
ces are possible. Please note that your
vehicle may not be equipped with all fea-
tures described. This also applies to safety-
related systems and functions.

Overview
The Voice Control System allows you to oper-
ate the following systems, depending on the
equipment in your vehicle:
Telephone
R
Navigation
R
Address book
R
Audio (radio, CD/DVD changer, CD/DVD
R
player, memory card, hard disk, Media
Interface, USB, Bluetooth
Say the commands without pausing between
individual words.
If you enter a non-existent or incorrect com-
mand, the Voice Control System responds
with "Please repeat" or "Please repeat your
entry" after a new command.
The Voice Control System confirms when you
enter important commands and informs you
when you make an incorrect entry.
Command types
A distinction is drawn between the following
types of command in the Voice Control Sys-
tem:
Global commands:

The local commands refer to the application
currently shown on the display and to the
audio source you are currently listening to.
If, for example, you are listening to the radio
while the navigation application is active on
the display, you can operate both applica-
tions using voice control.
If you would like to operate another function
using voice control, you must first switch to
the application in question with the appropri-
ate command.
The Voice Control System is operational

These are commands which can be called
up at any time (such as help or phone com-
mands).
Local commands:
These are commands that are only availa-
ble for the active application (such as the
"Station selection" radio function).
