2. Intended use

• The hydraulic jack is a mobile, hand-operated lifting
device for one-sided lifting and lowering and/or
positioning of loads, such as machinery, plant or
vehicles for e.g. repair or assembly.
• The hydraulic jack is approved only for commercial
use.
CAUTION: Use of the hydraulic jack in any
other than the manner described here is for-
bidden!
• The hydraulic jack is not permitted for private use.
• Powering by machine in place of hand operation is
prohibited.
• Not approved for continuous operation.
• Not appropriate for operations subject to particular
regulation (e.g. explosive atmospheres, mining).
• No direct contact with foodstuffs.
• Not for use on seagoing vessels.
• Not suitable for use in aggressive environments (e.g.
acidic).
• Do not exceed carrying capacity corresponding to
technical data (type plate).
• Not suitable for use in extremely sandy or dusty
environments.
• Additional (supportive) lifting of a load which is
already suspended, e.g. by a crane, is prohibited.
• Outdoor use of the hydraulic jack is permitted only in
calm weather (windspeeds up to 0.2 m/s).
• The hydraulic jack may not be used to lift or transport
people.
• No handling of loads whose characteristics could lead
to hazardous situations (e.g. molten metal, acids,
radiation-emitting materials, particularly brittle loads).
3. Legal and normative principles
and regulations
These standards / regulations were referred to during
the manufacture of the product:
• EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC
• EN 1494 Mobile or movable jacks and associated
lifting equipment
The user must comply with the regulations for use
applying to the respective country of use:
• in Germany at present DGUV (German Statutory
Accident Insurance) regulation 54 - Winches, lifting
and pulling devices

4. Safety instructions

CAUTION: Dangerous situation with threat
of damage to property if it is not avoided.
• Unskilled or unqualified persons must receive
instruction in the assembly and operation of the
hydraulic jack according to the operating instructions.
• The inspection prior to initial commissioning must be
performed by Qualified Persons for Hoists in
accordance with the German Operational Safety
Ordinance (BetrSichV).
• Inspection and maintenance and, if so, minor repairs
may only be undertaken by qualified personnel, such
as industrial mechanics, persons with knowledge of
hydraulic plant or persons with equivalent training.
• Defects must be remedied by a qualified person.
• Any structural modification of the hydraulic jack is
prohibited.
• The regular statutory inspections (DGUV inspections)
may only be undertaken by Qualified Persons for
Hoists in accordance with BetrSichV.
• Observe the technical data and description of
operation!
• Ensure structural stability. Use only on safe,
horizontal and non-slip surface (Fig. 4.1). Use
appropriate underlay if necessary.
• Adequate lighting of the working area is required for
all work.
• Secure vehicles or loads against rolling, slipping or
other movement.
• Load must only be applied in the direction of the
piston, never laterally. Only pressure load is allowed.
• No lateral forces may be applied on the hydraulic
jack.
• Do not exceed pump lever force (max. 400 N) and
comply with maximum admissible forces in
accordance with DIN EN 1494.
