1. Intended use
• The steel jack is a portable manually-operated
lifting device for the partial lifting and lowering of
loads.
• Powered operation is forbidden!
• Not suitable for use in spaces exposed to explosion
hazards.
• Alterations to the steel jack are only allowed with
our express written permission.
• Ensure that the technical data and functional
description are observed!
• Never leave the load unsupervised in a suspended
state without additional support.
• No lateral stress may be exerted on the steel jacks.
• Ensure the stability and a safe pitch location are
observed.
• Only lift on one side.
• Never take hold of moving parts.
• Defects must be rectified immediately in a
competent way.
• The steel jack must be set up so that only vertical
strain is exerted on the jack (Fig. 1).
• For steel jacks with adjustable claws: All 3 grip
knobs of the claw must always be hung in the
connecting elements of the jack!
2. Safety instructions
• Operation, assembly and maintenance only by:
– authorised,
– trained,
– personnel who are acquainted with the regulations.
• Do not grease or oil the braking mechanism!
• Transportation of persons as well as entry into the
hazardous area is forbidden (Fig. 2)
• Never lift a raised load with additional steel jacks.
• Secure vehicles or loads against rolling or slipping away etc.
• The steel jack may only be pressure-loaded.
• Do not exceed the carrying capacity of the steel jack.

• Do not go below the minimum load (5 % of the rated load)!
• An inspection must be carried out by a technical expert
before first use.
