6.7 Safety factor
The complete system is designed for 1.5- times the
rated pressure.
6.8 Maximum service life
The maximum shelf life of the hydraulic oil may not
exceed 2 years. See chapter 12 Inspection and
maintenance, for how to proceed with an oil change.
The service life of the hydraulic jack itself is not limited
to a fixed period. It depends on the condition of the
device and the results of the DGUV inspection.

7. Transport

Use the handle provided on the device for transport.
Observe the warning notices when transporting in the
original carton in order to prevent ripping of the carton
and the device possibly falling out.
The guidelines for the cargo lashing must be adhered to
when transporting in a vehicle.
CAUTION: The hydraulic jack may only be
transported in an upright position. If
transported horizontally hydraulic oil is to
leak in rare cases.
8. Assembly and installation
instructions
Attach the operating lever in order to operate the hydraulic
jack. Check that the hand lever is engaged and the safety
device is in place, to ensure that the lever will not be
inadvertently released during operation.

9. Initial commissioning

Initial commissioning may only be conducted by
Qualified Persons for Hoists in accordance with
BetrSichV.
It is recommended to document the inspection before
initial commissioning.
The following points must be considered before initial
commissioning:
• The load-bearing components (foot claw, head,
non-return valve, pressure limiting valve and release
valve) must be visually inspected and function tested.
• Initial commissioning requires no hydraulic oil filling.
This was done in factory. Observe regular maintenan-
ce and inspection instructions
• The hydraulic system must be aerated
(see chapter 11 Operation).

10. Daily inspections

• Daily inspections must be performed by the operator.
• The load-bearing components (foot claw, head,
non-return valve, pressure limiting valve and release
valve) must be visually inspected and function tested
prior to every use.
• Valves must in particular be inspected for oil leaks.
Check the foot claw and the head for deformation.
• Markings must be checked for presence and
readability prior to use.
CAUTION: The jack may not be operated
with defects. Defects must be remedied
immediately by a qualified expert (see
chapter 12 Inspection and maintenance
instructions).
NOTICE:
• A DGUV inspection should be carried out
by a technical expert at least once a year.
It is essential that inspection and
maintenance intervals are kept.
• Only use original accessories and spare
parts, otherwise safe operation can not
be guaranteed.

11. Operation

In general:
• When operating the hydraulic jack, adhere to the
minimum distances according to DIN EN 349 and DIN
EN ISO 13857.
• The area of danger is to be cordoned off before the
start of the lifting work so as not to endanger third
parties during the lifting of the load.
• The operator must be able to observe the jack and the
load during the operation of the hydraulic jack.
• During pumping / operation of the release valve the
jack must be held with the second hand using the
designated handle.
NOTICE: Pressure differences in the tank
can impair the stroke of the hydraulic jack.
Pressure differences can be equalised by
operation of the aeration valve (Fig. 11.1).
This will restore full function to the
hydraulic jack.
