11.3 Holding the load
• Keep the release valve closed when holding the load.
The load is held independently by the non-return
valve.
• Never leave the load unsupervised in a suspended
state without additional support.
• If working under the load is unavoidable, use suitable
supports to make sure that the load cannot lower
inadvertently.
11.4 Lowering the load
• Before lowering the load, make sure there are no
obstacles or body parts in the vicinity of the lowering
load. The lowering path must be clear.
• If necessary, raise the load slightly to remove any
additional supports.
• Always rotate the claw over the base plate so that it
comes to rest inside the base plate when retracted.
• Open the release valve slowly and carefully by turning
anticlockwise.
• The direction is identified with the following symbol:
• To lower the hydraulic jack without load it is necessary
to exert manual force to the head or the foot claw.

CAUTION:
The lowering speed will increase if the
valve is opened too quickly and too far.

fine, gentle lowering procedure.

replaced if lost.

12. Inspection and maintenance
instructions
12.1 General remarks

determined by a qualified person.
• The regular statutory inspection may only be
performed by Qualified Persons for Hoists in

• Inspection and maintenance and any minor repairs
may only be undertaken by qualified personnel, such
as persons with knowledge of hydraulic plant or
persons with equivalent training.
• Inspection and maintenance intervals must be
complied with. Worn parts must be replaced
promptly.
• If equipment is out of use for 3 to 12 months it must
undergo at least a recommissioning inspection as per
the initial commissioning. The date of the DGUV
inspection must also be taken into consideration. If
equipment is out of use for longer than a year the
DGUV test must be carried out in any case before
recommissioning.
• The inspection must be performed on the unloaded
hydraulic jack. Unload the hydraulic jack by
appropriate actions.
