Stand-by-operation with Storage of the Operat-
ing Mode (ALHV/ALHV-G)
With the remote control 36, the measuring tool can be
switched to stand-by-operation for 2 hours (max.).
The operating mode set on the measuring tool is
retained. When the shock-warning function is
switched on, the position of the measuring tool is also
monitored during standby operation.
Operating Modes
Course of X- and Y-Axis
The X- and Y-axis are marked on the housing above
the rotation head. The alignment aide 14 facilitates the
alignment of the measuring tool alongside the Y-axis.
Rotational Operation (ALH)
The measuring tool exclusively operates with fixed
rotational speed in rotational operation, which is also
suitable for use of a laser receiver.
Overview (ALHV/ALHV-G)
All three operating modes are possible with the meas-
uring tool in horizontal and vertical position.
Rotational Operation, Point Operation
(600/300/150 min
(ALHV/ALHV-G)
To switch to rotational operation, press the rotational
operation button 28. Rotational operation starts with
the last set or highest rotational speed.
To change the rotational speed, press the rotational
operation button 28 again. The rotational speed is
decreased each time after pressing the button. After the
lowest rotational speed, the measuring tool switches to
point operation. Pressing button 28 again takes you back
to rotational operation with the highest rotational speed.

Rotational Operation
Rotational operation is especially
recommended when using the
laser receiver. You can select
between
different
speeds.
Line Operation
In this operation mode, the variable
laser beam moves within a limited
aperture angle. This increases the
visibility of the laser beam in com-
parison to rotational operation. You
can select between different aper-
ture angles.
Point Operation
This operation mode enables the
best visibility of the variable laser
beam. As an example, it is used for
easy projecting of heights or
checking building lines.

When working with the laser receiver, the highest
rotational speed should be set. When working without
laser receiver, reduce the rotational speed for
improved visibility of the laser beam and use the laser
viewing glasses 32.
Line Operation, Point Operation
(10°/45°/90°/180°, 0°) (ALHV/ALHV-G)
To switch to line operation, press the line operation
button 23. The measuring tool starts with the smallest
aperture angle.
To change the aperture angle, press the line operation
button 23. The aperture angle is increased in steps.
After the largest aperture angle, the measuring tool
switches to point operation. Pressing button 23 again
takes you back to line operation with the smallest
aperture angle.
Note: Due to inertia, it is possible for the laser to
slightly move beyond the end point of the laser line.
Rotating the Laser Point/Laser Line in the Rota-
tional Plane (ALHV/ALHV-G)
In horizontal and vertical position of the measuring
tool, the laser point or the laser line can be rotated in
steps by 360° within the rotational plane. Press but-
ton 25 to rotate in clockwise direction, and button 26
to rotate in anticlockwise direction. Pressing and hold-
ing the buttons increases the speed of the rotation
rotational
head in the desired direction.
Aligning the Rotational Plane in the Vertical
Position (ALHV/ALHV-G)
When the measuring tool is in the vertical position, it
is possible to rotate the laser point, laser line or rota-
tional plane around the Y-axis for easy sighting out or
parallel alignment. For this, press the direction and
grade buttons, leftwards 27 or rightwards 24.
In rotational operation, the rotation around the Y-axis
can also be carried out with the button for clockwise
rotation 25 or anticlockwise rotation 26.
Rotation is possible within a range of ± 10 %.
Automatic Plumbing Function in Vertical Posi-
tion (ALHV/ALHV-G)
When the measuring tool is in the vertical position and
in point operation, the laser point can automatically be
aligned downward (perpendicular) for plumbing.
The plumbing function can only be started when the
shock-warning function is switched off and point
operation is set.
To activate the plumbing function, press the shock-
warning button 3. The laser point is automatically
aligned downward (perpendicular). Each further time
after pressing the shock-warning button, the plumbing
function is re-activated and the laser point is aligned
perpendicularly.
