Following and identifying a conductor
How to follow a conductor throughout its run as far as its source even
through walls (up to 50 cm thick).
- Connect the Emitter between the live side of a socket which has a short
circuit and a non-adjacent earth of the circuit so that a big loop is created.
- Start from the place where the Emitter is located and begin searching
by sweeping all round the socket until the direction taken by the con-
ductor has been found.
- Once this direction is known follow the route of the conductor to its
source, using the method of maximum.
At the exit of the weave or of the box section con-duit for example, the
strongest signal identifies the conductor from among the others.
