The return pulley permits lifting and leg deviation.
Motorised applications : suitable slow applications, ensure that
WLL of the pulley is respected.
Manual applications : in accordance with standards, it must be
used by a single operator.
EG-ED pulleys (Figure 3)
To install/ remove the wire rope: turn the pulley body (1) till
opening of flange (2), then install/ remove wire rope on the
sheave (3).
Close the pulley reversing above actions, ensuring safe locking
of the flange (2).
EJ pulleys (Figure 4)
Remove the sheave axle with the safety pin
 Remove the sheave
 Install or remove the wire-rope
 Install the sheave and then the axle
Before each use
 Ensure safety latch of pulleys' hook is locked,
 Control loading of the pulley (refer "Calculation of loading of a
snatch blocks" on page 6),
 Ensure the pulley, especially the sheave, is not soiled with products which can produce sliding of the
rope,
 Ensure anchorage location of the pulley accepts WLL on suspension of the pulley,
Control good functioning of the pulley: sheave rotation and locking of the safety latch,

 Control the rope/wire-rope: its size, capacity (refer to WLL on a leg), condition and length.
The operator is not authorised to release the rope/wire-rope or leave equipments out of control when a load
is hanged up on a pulley.
