tions inside the machine are optimal and guarantee some
years of work before needing replacement. It is however sa-
tisfying if the membranes will be still efficient after 4 or 5
work years.
Membrane life is higher where the processing water has a
moderate salinity. With water with a higher salinity grade,
membranes could have a shorter life.
A supplied water hardness growth indicates membranes
should be replaced.
Ask qualified personnel to replace the membranes.
HOW TO REPLACE THE MEMBRANE
1. Close the inlet tap and open the user tap (fig. 7 D) to
discharge the pressure.
2. Uninstall the machine from the water network and discon-
nect the inlet and outlet taps and the drain pipe (fig. 3).
3. Screw the screw to open the back panel (fig 7 D) of the
machine.
4. Disconnect the feeding pipe of the membranes (fig. 4 A).
5. Disconnect the permeate and concentrate pipes (fig. 4
F,G) (Attention! do not invert them when reassembling).
6. Unscrew the 4 screws of the fastening (fig. 7 A, B) which
hold the membrane containers fast to the body. Extract
the 2 containers from the machine.
7. Unscrew the containers cap screws and extract the caps
(fig. 4 B, E).
8. Extract the membranes (fig. 4 C).
9. Clean the containers (fig. 4 D) and the caps (fig. 4 B, E)
carefully.
10. Insert again the outlet caps (fig. 4 E) and screw the
screws of the outlet caps.
11. Insert the new membranes paying attention to the input
way (flow) (fig. 4 C).

EVERY 4 MONTHS
12. Insert again the inlet caps (fig. 7 B) in the containers
keeping them aligned with the outlet caps.
13. Insert the pipes in the related joints correctly.
14. Replace the containers in the machine fixing them to the
body with the specific screws (fig. 7 A, B).
15. Dry the water gone out during the above procedure.
16. Reinstall the machine.
17. Open the inlet tap slowly (fig 1 B) and make sure there is
no water loss.
18. Reassemble the back side panel to the machine (fig. 7
D).
19. Unload the first 30 litres of supplied water, which contain
the membrane-protecting substances.

WATER GOES OUT FROM THE UNLOADING WITHOUT
TAKING WATER
• The shoot-off valve does not shut properly, because it is
dirty or faulty. Check it and, if necessary, replace it.
• Feed water pressure is too low (less than 2 bar)
OUTFLOW WATER IS TOO SALTY
Check the membrane conditions (fig. 4 C), make sure that the
seals are in good condition. If the membrane are some years
old, it might be necessary to replace them.

15) DISPOSAL

ZB01 is built with non-dangerous materials, mainly polymers,
stainless steel. It is therefore necessary to dispose them in
accordance with the existing laws.
