1. General Information/Proper Use
1.1 General Information
This counterflow swimming unit (counterflow unit) complies with the state of the art. It was manufac-
tured with great care and is subjected to regular quality checks. It has been inspected by the German
Technical Inspectorate and provided with the TÜV-GS (safety standard) mark.
This operating manual contains important instructions for safe, correct and economical operation of
the unit. Strict compliance is necessary to prevent hazards and to ensure a long service life of the unit.
Compliance with local regulations - also on the part of installation personnel - is the responsibility of
the operator, and is not taken into account in these operating instructions.
The rating plate states the series and size, the main operating data and the works number of the unit.
Please quote these specifications if any additional information is required or when placing subsequent
orders, particularly of spare parts.
1.2 Proper Use
The counterflow unit was solely designed for use in private swimming pools. Its installation in public
swimming pools is therefore not permitted. The entire system, or parts thereof, are not suitable for use
in other systems. We expressly point out that this unit may only be employed for its intended purpose.
Operation of the counterflow unit outside the value ranges stated in the technical data (3.1) is not per-
mitted. In case of doubt, please contact your nearest customer service centre or the manufacturer.
2. Safety Notes
Prior to installing and starting operation of the counterflow unit, read these operating instructions ca-
refully, ensuring that you have fully understood their content.
2.1 Warning symbols
The following symbols are used in this manual to draw your attention to any potential danger.
This symbol warns against danger
of electric shock.
This symbol warns against general
hazards occurring during operation.
This symbol warns against the risk of

damage to technical installations.
Signs mounted directly on the unit, such as the rotational direction arrow, must always be observed
and kept in a legible condition.
2.2 Safety Instructions for the Operator

Electrical equipment may only be installed and serviced by qualified personnel. The respective
applicable local safety instructions and installation regulations must be complied with. The term qua-
lified personnel is defined in the standards VDE 0105 and IEC 364. Information for non-qualified
personnel is not contained in this operating manual. We expressly state that the EU stipulations pro-
hibit the employment of non-qualified personnel on electrical systems.

The specifications on the rating plate and the electrical connection conditions must correspond.

The counterflow unit may only be taken into operation if a residual current operated circuit breaker
is fitted.
4.
No conductive connection may exist between metal parts of the motor and water.
