enable safe handling and control
of the power tool in the event of
unexpected situations.

Service

• Have your power tool serviced by
a qualified repair person using only
original replacement parts. This will
ensure that the safety of the power
tool is maintained.
Safety requirements with regard to
fire prevention
• Keep a fire extinguisher at hand.
For wood and paper fires: Powder fire
extinguisher (fire class ABC) or foam
fire extinguisher (fire class AB)
for electrical fires: Carbon dioxide
(CO
) fire extinguisher (fire class B)

Special safety requirements for
people with medical implants
Every power tool creates an electro-
magnetic field when used. Under certain
unfavourable circumstances, this may
affect the functionality of medical
implants (e. g. pacemakers).
Before you use the electrical plane:
• Consult your doctor.
• Ask the manufacturer of the implant.
Special safety measures when
working with the electrical plane
• Plane only with sharp and
undamaged blades. Planing with
blunt or damaged blades may lead to
uncontrollable vibrations.
• Do not use blades made from high
speed steel.

• Only use blades authorised for the
revolutions of the electrical plane.
Unsuitable blades can break and
cause injuries when thrown out.
• Wait for the full revolutions to be
reached after starting. Only then
bring the electrical plane to the
work piece. Touching the electrical
plane with the work piece when at
a low starting speed may cause
uncontrollable vibrations.
• When planing, ensure that the
planing shoe is always completely
placed on the work piece! When
lifting, the electrical plane may make
uncontrollable movements.
• When planing, maintain an even
feed motion. Forcing a higher feed
speed carries a risk of accidents and
leads to early wear of the blades!
• Empty the shavings collection
bag on time. An overfilled shavings
collection bag leads to a cooling air
blockage and device damage caused
by overheating.
• Wait until the blade shaft has come
to a standstill before putting the
power tool down. An openly rotating
blade shaft may catch on the surface
and result in a loss of control as well
as serious injuries.
• Do not mount the electrical plane
to a stationary mechanism. The
electrical plane is only suitable for
manual operations.
• Do not plane against the direction
of feed motion. When planing against
the feed direction, the electrical plane
may be kicked out of your hand.
