DESCRIPTION
Winch, with powered infeed and outfeed, for
assembly on pickups, ATVs, SUVs and other
off-road vehicles.
IMPORTANT:
For horizontal winching only. Must not be
used for vertical lifting!
ASSEMBLY
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION
All connectors on both the winch and the cables
are labelled. When you are connecting the winch,
you only need to ensure that the markings on
the cables correspond with the markings on the
winch's connectors. For example, if a cable is
labelled "Winch +", you simply need to connect
this cable to the connector on the winch that
is labelled "+". If the cable is labelled "Battery
−", you simply need to connect this cable to the
battery's negative terminal "−".

1.
Winch motor, normally powered by the
10.5 m
vehicle's battery. The motor supplies the
8 kg
power to the gear mechanism, which
rotates the drum and unwinds or winds the
line.
2.
Gear (reduction gear). Converts the winch
motor's power to a large tractive force. The
gear is designed in a way that has allowed
a lighter, more compact winch.
3.
Winch drum. Cylinder for winding up the
line. The drum is powered by the motor
and the gear. The direction of the drum
can be changed using the winch's switch.
4.
Wire/synthetic line. The diameter and
length of the line are determined by the
winch's load capacity and design. The line
is wound around the winch drum and fed
through the line guide. At the end of the
line is an eyelet for attaching the hook's pin.
5.
Clutch to manually release the drum
from the gear, pull out the line and allow
the drum to rotate freely (known as free
spooling). When the clutch is engaged,
the winch drum is locked against the gear
again.
6.
Rocker switch for controlling the wired winch.
7.
Clip for attaching the rocker switch to the
handle.
The winch's mechanical function.
Now that you have familiarised yourself with
the winch and its components, we can start to
look at how it works. The primary advantage
of an electrically powered winch is that it
works reliably, even when used irregularly. It
