SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
There is a risk of personal injuries in all
winching situations. Minimise this risk
by carefully reading through these basic
operating instructions Familiarise yourself
with the way the winch works before using
it, and bear safety in mind at all times. These
instructions specify many basic regulations for
safe winching. However, as no two winching
situations are the same, good judgement and
a constant focus on safety are also required.
IMPORTANT:
•
For horizontal winching only. Must not
be used for vertical lifting!
•
Do not exceed the maximum permitted
load.
General
•
Keep your hands and other parts of your
body away from the line, hook eyelet, hook
and line guide during assembly and use,
and when winding and unwinding the line.
•
Take great care handling the line and
hook when winding and unwinding.
•
Always use the supplied hook strap when
unwinding and winding the line.
•
Always keep an eye on the vehicle during
winching.
•
Always wear heavy-duty leather gloves
when handling the line.
Risk of falling or crushing injuries
•
The winch must not be used to lift or
transport people.
•
The winch must not be used to lift or
suspend loads.
•
Never attempt to use the winch with less
than five turns of line on the drum. The
line can become detached from the drum,
as the line's attachment to the drum is
not designed to support a load.
Risk of burns
•
Wear heavy-duty safety gloves when
handling the line.
•
Never allow the line to run through your
hands.
•
Bear in mind that the winch motor, the
drum and the line may be hot when the
winch is in use, and for a period of time
afterwards.
Risk of burns and/or corrosive
injuries
•
Remove all jewellery and wear safety
glasses.
•
Do not lean over the battery during
connection.
•
Before drilling, check that there is no risk
of the drill coming into contact with a fuel
line, fuel tank, brake line, electric cable,
etc.
•
Never route electric cables over sharp
edges, in such a way that they could come
into contact with moving parts, or close to
parts that can become hot.
•
Insulate and protect exposed leads and
terminal blocks.
•
Fit terminal block protection according to
the instructions.
•
Familiarise yourself with the winch. Read
through the entire assembly and
operating instructions, as well as the basic
guide for winching technicians, so that
you understand the winch and how it
should be used.
•
People below the age of 16 may not use
the winch.
•
Never use the winch when you are tired,
or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or
medication.
•
Never exceed the winch's or the line's
capacity according to the information in
the product's data sheet. Reduce the load
on the winch by doubling the line with a
snatch block.
