•
Do not place the load on the tip of the
hook or the hook's catch. Position the
load in the middle of the hook.
•
Never use a hook where the opening has
increased in size or where the tip is
deformed.
Avoid damage to the winch and
other property
•
Avoid winching at an angle, which causes
the line to be wound on only one side of
the drum. This can damage the line or the
winch.
•
Check that the clutch is always fully
engaged or disengaged.
•
Do not use the winch to tow other vehicles
or objects. Shock loads may temporarily
exceed the capacity of the line and the
winch.
•
Avoid unwinding the line long distances
using the winch motor. This causes a high
level of heat and considerable wear to the
winch's motor and brake.
•
Take care to ensure that the vehicle's
chassis is not damaged when winching is
taking place with the line anchored to a
vehicle.
•
Do not feed a line that is under load in
steps. Shock loads may temporarily
exceed the capacity of the line and the
winch.
•
Do not use the winch to secure loads
during transport.
•
Do not immerse the winch in water or any
other liquid.
•
Keep the remote control in a protected,
clean and dry place.
•
Double the line or use an anchor point at
a long distance during rigging. This
maximises the tractive force and prevents
the winch from being overloaded.
•
After winching where the line has ended
up in water or mud, the winch motor
must be dismantled and the rotor and
internal components must be dried with
warm air. Do not start the winch motor
until all the components have dried.
