Troubleshooting / Decommissioning
Fault
Measured value of sensor
is arbitrary and sensor current
is greater than 20 mA (see 2)
Measured value of sensor
is not stable
1 When the reference electrode turns shiny silver or white it must be regenerated.
Brown-grey or yellow green coloration is normal.

2 The DULCOMETER
For this enter the complete operating menu (see DULCOMETER
Chapter 8).
Access the "Calibrating chlorine" settings menu and only read the mA-value measured under "Zero point".
Do not finish the zero point calibration but leave the menu by pushing the branch back button.
11 Decommissioning
44
Possible Cause
1) Chlorine concentration exceeds
the upper limit of measuring range
2) Distance between working
electrode and membrane too great
3) Sensor defective
1) Pressure fluctuations in sampling
line
2) Reference electrode defective
(see 1)
D1C can be used to display the sensor current when the sensor is built into the system.
CAUTION
• Switch off secondary control systems or switch them
to manual operation before dismantling the sensor.
A defective sensor results in an incorrect measured value,
which may cause dangerous overdosing within a control
system.
• Depressurise the system before dismantling the sensor.
Close the stop valves before and after the in-line probe
housing. Liquid will leak out when the sensor is dismantled
under pressure.
• In case of an emergency, first disconnect the controller
from the power supply. If liquid leaks out from the in-line
probe housing (DGM/DLGIII), close the stop valves at the
inlet and outlet of the sample water.
• Before opening the DGM/DLGIII observe on-site safety
guidelines.
• Additionally follow all of the safety instructions in
Chapter 6 "Assembly".
Action
Check the whole system, remedy
fault and then calibrate sensor
(see Chapter 8.2)
Screw the membrane cup tightly
onto the electrode shaft
Return sensor to ProMinent
Check installation position and
change the process if necessary
Return sensor to ProMinent for
regeneration
