Mechanical Linear Drive Unit WIESEL FORCELine
3. Storage and transport
®
The WIESEL FORCELine
mechanical linear drive units are
high-precision devices. Heavy impact could damage the
precise mechanical parts of the devices, thus impairing
their function. To prevent damage in storage and trans-
port, the linear drive units should be in padded packa-
ging, and:
•
Protected from damage and heavy shocks,
•
Secured against slipping,
•
Put in a sufficiently large crate.
Assembled linear drive units must be trans-
ported only with the transport securing
equipment provided.
Chapter 10 "Technical Data" lists the weights of the
units.
The units must be protected from:
•
Dirt,
•
Corrosion,
•
Water, and
•
Corrosive environments
4. Mounting a linear drive unit
The linear unit can be mounted:
•
With mounting bracket (KAO bracket),
•
With screws from above, and
•
With screws from below.
The tubular section must always be fastened
to level surfaces.
Standard parallelism <0.01mm per 100mm.
With mounting brackets
The linear drive unit is fixed by means of mounting
brackets (KAO brackets) fitted to the aluminium tubular
section.
The linear drive unit must be aligned to comply with the
requirements of the intended use.
The following procedure is suggested:
1. Fig. 3: Loosen the relevant mounting bracket.
2. Align the linear unit and/or mounting bracket
accordingly, and refasten.
3. If necessary:
Loosen other mounting brackets and repeat the
procedure.
®
For applications with high dynamics, and / or
when only two fixture points are used to
mount the linear unit, the mounting fixture
holes in the profile should be used.
With screws from above
The linear unit is attached from above with socket head
screws, size M6 (MLS 60) or M8 (MLS 80), through the alu-
minium tubular section.
The linear drive unit must be aligned to comply with the
requirements of the intended use.
The following procedure is suggested:
1. Fig. 4: Release clamp (1) for outer sealing strip.
2. Lift the sealing strip (2) and loosen the appropriate
attachment screw (4).
3. Align the linear unit appropriately, and tighten the
screw again.
4. If necessary:
Loosen other attachment screws and repeat the
procedure.
5. Lay the sealing strips back in the tubular section (3)
and clamp them.
With screws from below
The linear unit is attached from below with socket head
screws, size M8 (MLS 60) or M10 (MLS 80), which engage
in the aluminium tubular section (penetration 12 mm at
MLS 60 or 15 mm at MLS 80).
The linear drive unit must be aligned to comply with the
requirements of the intended use.
The following procedure is suggested:
1. Fig. 4: Loosen the relevant attachment screw (5).
2. Align the linear unit accordingly, and tighten the
screw again.
3. If necessary:
Loosen other attachment screws and repeat the
procedure.
The used fastening screws must not rise over
the inner profile edge.
Danger of collision!
