PTION ONNECTING THE

ELEMETRY ISPLAY
The HFMx V2 M-LINK 2.4 GHz RF module is fitted with a socket
marked "COM." to which the MULTIPLEX Telemetry-Display can
be connected.
The telemetry functionality of the M-LINK system can be ex-
ploited in conjunction with telemetry-capable M-LINK receivers
and sensors.
The "COM." socket is located on the left-hand narrow face of the
HFMx V2 M-LINK 2.4 GHz RF module. The pin assignment of
the socket is printed on the sticker:
Information on connecting the Telemetry-Display and its charac-
teristics can be found in the operating instructions supplied with
the unit.

The HFMx V2 M-LINK 2.4 GHz RF module is future-proof, as it
can be updated using the "COM." socket.
The "COM." socket is located on the left-hand narrow face of the
HFMx V2 M-LINK 2.4 GHz RF module. The pin assignment of
the socket is printed on the sticker:

To update the firmware of the HFMx V2 M-LINK 2.4 GHz RF
module you require the following items:
•
MULTIPLEX Launcher PC program:
This is available as a free download from
www.multiplex-rc.de.

Tip: you can keep Launcher up-to-date using the
"Online-Update" facility (menu point "Extras").
•
USB PC lead, UNI (# 8 5149).
This is the procedure for updating the firmware:

Note: the HFMx V2 M-LINK 2.4 GHz RF module draws
power from the transmitter during the update process, and for
this reason the DIN plug must be connected to the transmitter
while the process is being carried out.
•
Switch the transmitter OFF.
•
Connect the USB PC lead to the "COM." socket of the
HFMx V2 M-LINK 2.4 GHz RF module.
Observe the pin assignment of the socket (see illustration
above):
Pin assignment:
Negative ( - ) = black wire
Positive ( + ) = red wire
Signal ( ) = yellow wire
•
Connect the USB PC lead to the PC.
•
Switch the transmitter ON.
•
Open the MULTIPLEX Launcher PC program, select the
correct COM port and start the search.
•
Once MULTIPLEX Launcher has detected the RF module,
select the update version, and load it into the module.
•
Switch the transmitter OFF when the update is complete,
and disconnect the USB PC lead from the RF module.
