The cover should only be cleaned with recommended products suitable for this purpose.
Never use PVC solvant-based or abrasive cleaning products
Failure to respect these fundamental rules concerning the maintenance of your automatic cover will entail cancellation
of the guarantee.
4. WINTERIZING
During the winter, pools are frequently not used for several months.
Generally, pools are winterized from the 15th of November to the 15th of the March of the following year.
During this winter period, the pools should be covered with a "net" type winter cover that allows rain water to pass
through but that will protect the cover from hail stones and falling leaves.
Do not use a watertight cover, when weighed down by rain water this type of cover can rest against the slat cover and
allow migration of various components of the PVC from the slats.
In regions susceptible to freezing temperatures, place a row of floats parallel to the pool width on the surface of the
cover pit or extension and another row of floats on the water surface at the opposite side.
Roll the cover out over the surface of the pool, stop before the cover reaches the row of floats.
Should the cover be iced over, do not apply any stress to the slat cover or make any attempt to operate the cover, this
could result in breakage of the slats and serious damage to the covers mechanical components.
Similarly, the cover should not be left rolled around its axle during the winter period. This can lead to permanent defor-
mation of the axle. The cover may be rolled up during snowfall.
We recommend that you entrust the winterizing of your pool and your automatic cover to a qualified professional,
trained in the use of our products.
If, however, you decide to proceed with winterizing of your automatic cover your-self, you must follow the instructions
provided below.
4.1. Stardeck and Coverdeck covers
- Never lower the water level. Rain water will be drained off by the over-flow.
- Clean the cover thoroughly using a high pressure jet. The cover should be cleaned again at the beginning of
the pool season.
- Clean the cover pit or extension before winterizing the filtration system.
- Place a row of floats parallel to the pool width on the surface of the cover pit or extension and another row of
floats on the water surface at the opposite side. Roll the cover out over the surface of the pool, stop before the
cover reaches the row of floats. Insert gizmos into the skimmers.
- Install a winter cover permeable to rain water.
- Treat wooden duckboarding to protect it against the weather (varnish, paint, etc.)
- Remove the motor and the cleaning system booster (if any) and store these in a dry place. Take advantage of
this opportunity to have the motor serviced.
Cut the power supply to the control panel.
N.B. : Do not remove the motor while the cover is still rolled around its axle.
