4.2. Aquadeck, Evodeck and Thermodeck and Igloo II covers
- Keep the water level in the pool constant throughout the winter period.
- Clean the cover thoroughly using a high pressure jet. Repeat this procedure at the beginning of the summer
season.
- Place a row of floats along the width opposite the AQUADECK, EVODECK, THERMODECK or IGLOO cover.
Roll the cover out over the surface of the pool, stop before the cover reaches the row of floats. Insert gizmos
into the skimmers.
- Install a winter cover permeable to rain water.
- Treat wooden duckboarding to protect it against the weather (varnish, paint, etc.)
- Remove the motor and store in a dry place. Cut the power supply to the control panel. Take advantage of
this opportunity to have the motor serviced.
N.B. : Do not remove the motor while the cover is still rolled around its axle.
5. SPECIAL CASES
5.1. Beams and duckboarding
The STARDECK or COVERDECK beam and PVC or wooden duckboarding serve a mainly decorative purpose in that
they hide the cover's mechanical parts from view.
They must be kept free of any obstruction to allow rapid and easy access to the cover pit or extension.
The maximum weight supported by PVC or wooden duckboarding resting on a beam is 80 Kg/m².
Therefore, use of the beam and/or duckboarding as a diving board or walkway to access the pool is strictly prohibited,
as is application of any load greater than 80kg/m².
5.2. Slat covers
The slats used to build Delta covers must, irrespective of their colour, be kept in contact with the pool water at all times
to draw off the heat generated by exposure of the slats to the sun. Otherwise, the cover can "overheat" resulting in
instant and permanent deformation of the slats.
The filtration system in pools equipped with translucent blue slat covers must be run during the hours when the the
sun is at its hottest.
In the event that the pool is emptied, take all steps necessary to protect the slats from the sun and/or overheating.
N.B. : It should be noted that since the 1st of January 2004, the French standard NFP 90-308 imposes a minimum
service life of 3 years for the PVC slats composing translucent slat covers.
5.3. Separating pit walls
Since the 1st of january 2004, the French standard NFP 90-308 requires the presence of a separating pit wall between
the cover pit and the rest of the pool.
