Operations
5.1.3 Removing the tyres
•
Press the pedal (4) (Fig. 5.1-7) to move the tilting
column in the vertical position. Position the vertical
slide on the rim and press button (5) (Fig. 5.1-8) to
lower the tool. Position the mounting/demounting
tool in contact with the rim edge and lock it into place
by pressing button (6): the tool automatically moves
away from the rim edge vertically. The tool must be
positioned at a radial distance from the rim edge
of approximately 2 mm: this is necessary to avoid
damaging the rim (Fig. 5.1-9).
Note:
Once the mounting/demounting tool is
positioned properly, other wheels of the
same size can be changed without having
to reset the tool.
Note:
The plastic insert inside the mounting/
demounting tool must be periodically
replaced. Every machine is equipped with
several plastic spare inserts (inside the
accessory box). Follow the instructions
provided with the replacement parts.
• Insert the bead lifting lever under the bead and over

the support of the mounting/demounting tool. Lift
the bead onto the mounting finger. To facilitate this
operation, press with left hand on the tyre sidewall
in position diametrically opposite that of the tool. If
desired, the bead lifting lever can be removed after
lifting the bead onto the finger (Fig. 5.1-10).
• Rotate the wheel support clockwise and at the same
time push down on the tyre sidewall to move the
bead into the drop centre of the rim (Fig. 5.1-11).
• Repeat the process for removing the second bead.
With left hand, lift the tyre in a position diametrically
opposite the tool to keep it in the drop centre (Fig.
333.tif
5.1-12). Move the swing arm aside and remove the
tyre.
