5. OPERATION

5.1 Setting up the scale

1. Disconnect the scale from the power supply.
2. Fold down the column:

3. Lift the scale slightly.

4. Move the scale to the desired set-up location.

Perform a function check as described in the
section entitled "Function check" on page 92
before using the device each time.
CAUTION!
Injury to persons, damage to the device
The scale is not steady in the raised position.

Rest the scale on the handrail if it is to be put
down in the raised position for a short period.

If the scale is to be stored in the raised posi-
tion for an extended period, prop it with suit-
able means to stop it falling over.
a) undo the locking screw
b) keep the locking screw pulled out
c) swivel the column
d) allow the locking screw to engage
e) tighten the locking screw fully
